WAFCON 2026 group stage draw: hosts Morocco open the tournament, Nigeria in Group C

The group stage draw for the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations 2026 is complete, mapping out the path for all 16 finalists across Rabat and Fes.

Hosts headline Group A

Morocco open the tournament in Group A alongside Algeria, Senegal and Kenya, with all four Group A and Group B matches staged in the capital, Rabat. The hosts kick things off against Kenya on July 26, immediately after Algeria and Senegal meet earlier the same day.

Group B in Rabat

South Africa headline Group B, joined by Côte d'Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Tanzania, also based in Rabat alongside the host nation's group.

Defending champions also in Rabat

Nigeria, chasing an 11th title, were drawn into Group C alongside Zambia, Egypt and debutants Malawi, with all Group C matches also played in Rabat — at the Al Madina Stadium and the Olympic Stadium.

Group D in Fes

Ghana and Cameroon headline Group D, completed by Mali and Cape Verde, with the group's matches hosted in Fes.

What's next

The group stage runs July 26 – August 6, with 24 matches across the four groups before the tournament moves into the knockout rounds ahead of the August 16 final. MatchdayX will carry live coverage throughout.
