Fulham have completed the signings of forward Gonzalo Garcia and midfielder Cesar Palacios from Real Madrid, both on five-year deals with a club option for a further 12 months. Garcia arrives for a reported £34m, with Palacios completing a separate £8.5m move.
Arbeloa reunites with his Bernabeu pair
Both players are reuniting with Alvaro Arbeloa, who took charge at Craven Cottage this summer after working with the pair at Real Madrid. Garcia, 22, made 39 appearances for Los Blancos last season, scoring eight goals, and won his first Spain cap in June after finishing joint-top scorer at last summer's Club World Cup. Palacios, 21, is a Spain youth international central midfielder who came through Real Madrid's academy alongside Garcia.
Real Madrid retain 30% sell-on clause
Real Madrid have inserted a 30% sell-on clause into both deals, with an option to extend either player's contract by a further year to 2032. Both academy graduates leave the Bernabeu for regular first-team football under their former coach.
