The fixture will send Chelsea head coach Xabi Alonso back to Anfield, where he formerly played for Liverpool. Liverpool reached the last 16 with a 3-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, while Chelsea booked their place after beating Leeds United 6-3.
The match is scheduled for the week beginning Monday, 26 October, although the exact date, kick-off time and broadcast arrangements have not yet been confirmed.
