PSG Snatch Late Lille Draw

Marquinhos scored in the 95th minute as Paris Saint-Germain recovered from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Lille in Ligue 1.

Lille take first-half lead

Lille took the lead in the 21st minute when Hákon Arnar Haraldsson ran onto Olivier Giroud’s reverse pass and curled a finish beyond PSG goalkeeper Matvey Safonov.

PSG dominated possession but struggled to turn their control into clear chances as Lille defended deeply and limited the defending Ligue 1 champions’ threat in front of goal. Achraf Hakimi missed an early effort for the visitors, while Giroud had earlier tested Safonov at the other end.

Bakwa appears to seal win

Lille looked to have secured the points when Dilane Bakwa curled home a left-footed goal in the 84th minute to make it 2-0.

The goal capped an effective Lille performance that saw the home side absorb PSG pressure and strike decisively at key moments.

PSG stage stoppage-time comeback

Vitinha gave PSG hope in the first minute of stoppage time, curling a superb shot into the top-left corner to reduce the deficit.

The Portuguese midfielder then provided the decisive delivery four minutes later. His cross found Marquinhos, who beat Romain Perraud in the air and powered a header home in the 95th minute to rescue a point for PSG.

The result was PSG’s second consecutive 2-2 draw to open the Ligue 1 campaign, following their draw with Rennes. Lille moved to four points from two matches, while PSG remained unbeaten but sat on two points after their latest late escape.
