Marc Cucurella completes big-money move from Chelsea to Real Madrid
Spain international Marc Cucurella has completed a permanent move from Chelsea to Real Madrid in a deal worth around £51.8million, signing a six-year contract as one of new head coach José Mourinho's first major signings.

Real Madrid and Chelsea have both confirmed the transfer, with the fee structured as an initial £47.4million plus a further £4.3million in add-ons, taking the total to around £51.8million (roughly €60million / $70million). Cucurella has signed through June 30, 2032.
A Mourinho priority
The left-back was reportedly a personal target for José Mourinho since his appointment as Real Madrid head coach, with the Portuguese keen to add a proven, combative left-sided defender to his backline as he rebuilds the squad.
Four trophy-laden years at Chelsea
Cucurella joined Chelsea from Brighton in the summer of 2022 for a reported £63million and became a regular fixture at left-back, helping the club win the UEFA Europa Conference League and the FIFA Club World Cup. He leaves Stamford Bridge as one of the most experienced members of the squad's recent trophy-winning sides.

Cucurella joins Ibrahima Konaté, signed on a free transfer from Liverpool, as Real Madrid continue to strengthen their defensive options this summer ahead of the new La Liga season.
