Ronaldo weds Georgina Rodriguez in low-key Portugal ceremony

The couple kept it small and private in Cascais on Tuesday, marrying a decade into their relationship with all five of their children looking on.

A quiet wedding in Cascais

Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez are officially married. The pair, a couple since a 2016 meeting in Madrid, exchanged vows on Tuesday at a civil ceremony in Cascais, the coastal town roughly 20 miles from Lisbon, with all five of their children present. It's the culmination of an engagement Rodriguez announced back in August 2025, when she showed off a ring reportedly valued at $3-5m.

News broke on Instagram first

Rather than a formal press release, the couple let fans in on the news themselves — a photo of their rings, posted to Instagram, captioned simply "C❤️G." Confirmation followed soon after from a Ronaldo representative: "Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez were married today in a civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, and are now officially husband and wife," adding that it was a "private and intimate moment" shared with their five children.

Family of seven, days before a new season

Between them, Ronaldo and Rodriguez are raising five children: daughters Martina, born 2017, and Bella Esmeralda, born 2022, plus Cristiano Jr., 16, and twins Mateo and Eva, 9, all born via surrogate.

The wedding lands in a packed few days for Ronaldo. He's coming off a sixth World Cup appearance — level with Lionel Messi for the men's record — where he confirmed it was his last World Cup outing, though he's stayed noncommittal on retiring from Portugal duty altogether. Now 41, he turns his attention back to club football, with Al Nassr, under new boss Ange Postecoglou, kicking off their 2026-27 Saudi Pro League campaign just four days after the wedding.
