PSG Beat City In Six-Goal Thriller
Paris Saint-Germain scored three times in the first half and held off a Manchester City fightback to win 4-2 at the Etihad, where Erling Haaland scored twice and Ferran Torres saw a late penalty saved.
PSG take a three-goal lead
Paris Saint-Germain led 3-0 by the 32nd minute at the Etihad. Désiré Doué opened the scoring in the 13th minute, beating goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma at his near post after a counter-attack. Ousmane Dembélé added a second two minutes later, heading in at the far post after a one-two with Doué, and Vitinha made it 3-0 in the 32nd minute.
Haaland scores twice
Manchester City made three substitutions at half-time. One of them, Iliman Ndiaye, crossed for Erling Haaland to head in City's first goal in the 53rd minute.
Maghnes Akliouche restored PSG's three-goal lead just after the hour with a long-range effort. Haaland scored again in the 75th minute, finishing a low pass from substitute Ayyoub Bouaddi. The two goals took him to 38 Champions League goals for City, a club record that moves him past Sergio Agüero's 36.
Torres penalty saved
Late in the match PSG were awarded a penalty, but Donnarumma saved the effort from Ferran Torres. Haaland and Enzo Fernández both also hit the woodwork for City.
