Queiroz Begins New Ghana Mandate

Carlos Queiroz has agreed a new mandate to remain in charge of Ghana’s Black Stars, with his next spell set to begin during the upcoming international window.

Queiroz agrees new mandate

Carlos Queiroz will continue as head coach of Ghana’s Black Stars after reaching an agreement with the Ghana Football Association.

The GFA confirmed on 2 September that the Portuguese coach will begin a new mandate during the next international window. His previous mandate, which included Ghana’s participation at the recently concluded FIFA World Cup, ended a few weeks earlier.

The association said the decision followed discussions involving the GFA, Queiroz and the Ministry of Sports and Recreation.

Focus turns to next phase

Queiroz will lead Ghana into the next stage of the national team’s programme.

The GFA said his international experience, coaching expertise and familiarity with the Black Stars made him the preferred choice to guide the team forward. Specific details of his contract, technical staff and the schedule for the next international window have not yet been released.

Further information on the mandate and Ghana’s upcoming programme will be announced later, according to the association.
