Brentford Beat Tottenham 3-0 In Opening-Day London Derby

Brentford began the Premier League season with a 3-0 home win over Tottenham Hotspur, with Keane Lewis-Potter, Vitaly Janelt and Michael Kayode scoring.

Brentford start strongly

Brentford opened their Premier League campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Keane Lewis-Potter gave the home side the lead, before Vitaly Janelt added a second. Michael Kayode scored shortly after half-time to complete the win.

Lewis-Potter gives Brentford the lead

Brentford began with energy and were rewarded when Lewis-Potter scored the first goal of the match.

The early goal gave the hosts confidence, while Tottenham struggled to build sustained pressure or create clear chances.

Janelt increases the advantage

Janelt scored Brentford’s second before half-time, leaving Tottenham with a difficult task after the break.

Brentford were organised without the ball and looked dangerous whenever they attacked, taking a deserved two-goal lead into the interval.

Kayode seals the result

Kayode made it 3-0 in the 49th minute, putting the match beyond Tottenham’s reach.

Brentford had the opportunity to add another goal later in the game, but Igor Thiago’s penalty struck the post.

A statement home win

The final score reflected a disciplined and effective Brentford performance. The Bees defended well, took their chances and began the season with three points and a clean sheet.

Tottenham will need to respond quickly after a difficult opening-day defeat in west London.
