Raphinha Brace And Yamal Strike Send Barcelona Past Feyenoord
Raphinha scored twice either side of goals from Karim Adeyemi and Lamine Yamal as Hansi Flick's Barcelona routed Feyenoord 5-1 to open their Champions League campaign at Camp Nou.
Raphinha's Early Goal Sets The Tone
Barcelona needed only three minutes to open the scoring against Feyenoord, with Raphinha beating a couple of defenders inside the box after being played through by Lamine Yamal. Karim Adeyemi doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, rifling a shot into the top corner from outside the area, and Barcelona went in at half-time with the contest already settled at Camp Nou.
Raphinha And Yamal Add To The Rout
Raphinha struck again in the 57th minute, teed up by Pedri, to make it 3-0, before Lamine Yamal got his own name on the scoresheet in the 77th minute. Sem Steijn pulled a goal back for Feyenoord five minutes later, but Gabriel Jesus restored Barcelona's four-goal cushion almost immediately, converting a Yamal cross in the 85th minute to complete the 5-1 scoreline.
A Dominant Night By Every Measure
Barcelona controlled the match from start to finish, finishing with 22 shots to Feyenoord's six and nine efforts on target compared with three, while holding 67 percent of possession. Their passing was just as one-sided: Barcelona completed or attempted 797 passes at 94 percent accuracy, against 299 at 82 percent for Feyenoord. Raphinha became the first player in Barcelona's history to score in each of the club's first five matches of a season, and the win also came in Barcelona's first competitive meeting with Feyenoord since a 1974-75 European Cup tie, which Barcelona won at home after a goalless first leg in Rotterdam.
