Australia host Brazil in a two-match September series
The Socceroos welcome the Seleção for back-to-back friendlies on September 25 and 29, part of a post-World Cup exhibition calendar that sees confederations outside Europe fill the window with warm-up fixtures ahead of new qualifying cycles.
Two venues, five days apart
The first meeting is at Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville on Friday, September 25, before the sides reconvene at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on Tuesday, September 29.
A rare meeting between the two nations
Australia and Brazil have met just 11 times since their first encounter in 1988, with Brazil holding a dominant record. The Socceroos' only win over the five-time world champions came in the 2001 Confederations Cup third-place play-off in Ulsan, a 1–0 victory over the side that would go on to win the World Cup the following year.
A blockbuster addition to the window
The series gives Football Australia two marquee home fixtures against one of the sport's most decorated nations, with both matches expected to draw strong crowds as the Socceroos build toward their next competitive cycle.
